Labradors
Where did they come from?

The Labrador breed was established in Newfoundland by pioneering English settlers. These settlers who brought their hunting and fishing companions with them from England. So in a sense, all Labradors are "English", despite the fact that all early Labradors were working dogs.
What is their size?
English Labs have a slightly stockier build than an American Lab. They stand between 21.5 and 22.5 inches high (regardless of gender). In terms of weight, females tend to weigh slightly less between 60-70 pounds, and males tend to weigh between 70 and 80 pounds.
What is their personality?
The lovable Labrador retriever is America's most popular dog breed. Labradors are famously friendly. They are companionable house mates, who band with the whole family. They socialize well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don't mistake their easy-going personality for low energy. The lab is an enthusiastic athlete, that requires lots of exercise (swimming), and games (fetch), to keep physically and mentally fit.
